Microsoft Business Value

As product manager at Microsoft (Redmond, WA), Patrick Ohlin spearheaded development and launch of the organization’s intranet site, http://infoweb/value, promoting customer-focused enterprise software sales and marketing.

An instant success, the site ranked second in discrete hits only behind Infoweb’s search utility among Microsoft’s 35,000 employees. The site provided a home to—benefits-oriented—perspectives within a maturing, theretofore product-development centered organization.

Combining a unique customer focus with value-based content—both existing and newly created—the Business Value site made innovative use of web parts and automated online customer service, and offered real-time chat service to field sales and internal marketing and development teams.
